Recently my grandmother went into a care home as there is no one to look after her full time to help with her dementia as her husband/ my grandad died 16 years ago and she has been living by herself since, about 8 months ago she was showing signs of early dementia and has been getting worse rapidly. Only 5 weeks ago she fell down the stairs and fractured her hip bone and was taken to the hospital by her angel neighbors (who came round after they heard the thump).

She had been recovering in hospital and then moved into a wonderful care home in Aylesbury. My mother has a power of attorney for her finances but as she lives far away and visits her little, I visit her often and by her toothpaste and shampoo etc.. as the care home doesn’t provide it.

I’m still a student and I can’t afford to keep her happy at the moment which breaks my heart. These funds will solely go towards maintaining a happy and healthy life for her. I hope people who have a relative with dementia can sympathise with my situation and any donations will be amazing.
