There is a desperate need for dental care in Malawi. The country has fewer than 40 registered dentists for a population of 19 million people and access to dental services is particularly difficult for people living in remote rural communities. Dentaid volunteer Nick O’Donovan and his team have visited Malawi on several occasions to provide emergency pain relieving dental care for people living in Bulala and the surrounding villages.

In Easter 2019, Nick will lead a team of Dentaid volunteers including Joe from DDC who will set up a temporary dental clinic in Bulala. Many of the patients arrive through the night and have never visited a dentist before.

Dentaid's mission is to increase dental provision in developing countries by resourcing dentists and training health workers so that they can provide vital pain relieving care to their communities.

Your donation will help us to provide dental equipment to charitable dental projects in the poorest parts of the world. Along with training, this will enable local health workers to ensure their communities no longer need to suffer the debilitating pain caused by untreated tooth decay but can enjoy healthy and productive lives.
