    Story

Education is the key to ending poverty. Providing vital resources such as teaching, sanitation and library facilities can provide children with the education they deserve.

More and more young people are getting the chance to go to school but some are still excluded, especially those who have a disability and young women.

If they get an education, they can help support the family and understand how to reduce teenage pregnancy and mortality rates among young women.

Traditionally girls get married and boys go to school. But when they’re in school, girls can do even better than boys. So what we’re doing is encouraging them, showing them what they can do for their nation.

Every child has a right to education irrespective of individual physical emotional and intellectual difficulties or characteristics.

We believe that everyone should be able to earn a decent living and become self-sufficient, because no one wants to rely on charity or aid. ICS works with businesses to help them grow and connect with other suppliers, customers and communities.

A secure income is the first step to ending the cycle of poverty and building a prosperous and stable economy that has the right tools to tackle issues like climate change, access to education and healthcare and gender equality.

I will reach out to other young people, particularly on issues like sexual health. Projects also focus on making sure people have decent toilet and washing facilities, which can hugely reduce sickness and diarrhoea.

As a volunteer, I will work in a number of locations such as youth centres, schools and at community meetings. We want to make sure that people around the world know their rights and can make their voices heard.
