Some of you already know that I'm a bit of a runner and last year I entered and 'fortunately' gained a place in the Berlin Marathon for 2018. This is my first marathon...and my biggest challenge to date, and for those not familiar with the distance, it's 26.2 miles!!!

Because I had gained this place myself I had intended to run the marathon without any sponsorship, just as a personal challenge. However Claire recently found out that her cousin, Tricia, is on the waiting list for a lung transplant. Tricia has been suffering with a rare lung disease, Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis and a lung transplant is now her only hope.

After hearing the story, I thought about how lucky I am to have healthy lungs that will enable me to take on this challenge. And I then thought that perhaps I could help Tricia, who isn't as lucky in that way, by raising some much needed funds that will help her deal with the huge financial burden associated with the transplant.
