Story
We are a community lead project that needs funds to train up Positive Activity Leaders or PALs to work in communities across Sheffield to work with Young People and Adults that are at risk of becoming involved with knife crime, violence, drugs and substance misuse offences.
PALs aim to become positive role models who work with the hard to reach in their communities and mentor, listen to young people who are drawn towards Gangs and violence.
PALs aim to create a positive alternative and divert young people to positive activities and other support to help break the cycle of Adverse Childhood Experiences.
As PALs are drawn from local communities they are best placed to work with vulnerable people from their communities as they know and understand the difficulties they face.
PALs will be supported by a number of large organisations and well-known Sports clubs across Sheffield the aim is the offer an alternative to picking up a knife or becoming involved in Gang violence.
Funding will be used to ensure PALs receive the best awareness training to help them to become a positive influence in a young person or adult who is at risk, life to help them create a better and brighter future away from violence, drugs and knives.
