Story
Gorphwysfa Bowling Club – fundraising for new clubhouse
We
are a small club in the rural town of Ruthin in North Wales. We welcome anyone regardless of age or ability to come and play on our green. Whilst members pay a membership fee the cost of maintaining the standard of the green is high.
To be able to continue as a club and grow and develop we would benefit from a clubhouse. Currently we are managing by erecting a garden gazebo for shelter which has to be taken down each time. A wooden clubhouse would mean that we had somewhere we could invite local clubs for friendly matches and be able to offer refreshments under cover. The clubhouse would provide shelter and seating both for players and supporters. The green is a public facility and we are hoping to improve the facilities at the green for the benefit of the residents of Ruthin as well as our club members.
We have secured funding for the cost of the clubhouse from a grant and from money raised by club members over the last few years. However we now need just a small amount more, £200, in order to be able to finish and complete the laying of the base for the clubhouse.
Please can you help and support us to be able at last to achieve our aim of gaining a permanent clubhouse by the end of the current season.
