    Story

    Drawn Poorly is a Manchester based creative project challenging stigma and encouraging conversations about living with chronic illness, disability & mental illness. We are not for profit, supported by volunteers & rely on funding and donations to facilitate our workshops & events

    To date all of the financial backing for the project has come from a crowdfunding campaign in November 2017, as well as zine sales and a £250 grant from Contact Manchester.

    With this money, we have been able to:

    - Print three zines with free copies being sent to all contributors

    - Create flyers and stickers to raise awareness of the project

    - Appear at several zine & art fairs, allowing different regions to access the project

    - Run four free zine workshops (providing our own materials, hiring space, printing and postage)

    - Assemble and send party packs for the Too Poorly To Party birthday campaign.

    The need for this project has always outweighed the funding limits. With your help we can continue to provide engagement opportunities for anyone struggling with an aspect of their health condition.

    A small donation can make a huge difference to us, whether it's providing a free place at a workshop, allowing development opportunities for artists, contributing to space hire or more.

    “It really is a fantastic force for good and a unique entity. I'm proud to have been involved in one way or another since its creation and I'd love to see it grow even more :)”

    This year is our most ambitious yet. With your help we will:

    - Deliver more free workshops in an accessible venue;

    - Host our first spoken word night in Manchester, working with upcoming artists who have experience of health conditions;

    - Print and distribute issue five of Drawn Poorly zine;

    - provide opportunities for creatives to showcase their work in our first exhibition.

    100% of money raised goes back to the project, the more we raise, the more we can do and ultimately the more people we can reach.

    We appreciate anything you can give to us.

    Thanks,

    Drawn Poorly

    xxo

        As someone who also struggles to create while trying to learn how better to live with lifelong mental illness, I'm grateful for your work.
