The Portsmouth Dreadnoughts Women's Team won the Div 2 National Championship last season in the snow, after only their second season in existence.

In Summer 2016 the team formed, entering the Opal Series (flag competition) later that year and were ranked 8th in the UK for Women's Flag Football. Following their first competition, the Dreadnoughts entered a 5-a-side Contact tournament, the Sapphire Series, in early 2017. The Dreadnoughts came runners up in their opening season, narrowly missing out to the Wembley Stallions in the final.

The Sapphire Series 17-18 season saw a step up to 7-a-side contact football for the Dreadnoughts, who on the back of an undefeated season, faced Sandwell Steelers in a very cold & snowy final. The Dreadnoughts maintained their strong defense & scoring offense, beating the Steelers and promoting themselves to Division 1 of the Sapphire Series.

This step us to Division 1 has a costly effect on the team and we would appreciate any donations in support of our upcoming season.

Our first tournament kicks off on the 1st December as we face Sandwell Steelers & Hertfordshire Tornadoes.
