Please Help People of Flood-Ravaged Kerala

Kerala, a state on India's south-western coast, with nearly 600km of Arabian Sea shoreline, palm-lined beaches and backwaters, was ravaged by the most devastating floods in the last hundred years. Although the state is only half the size of Scotland, Kerala has 6 times as many people—one of the most densely populated places on earth.

The state-wide floods in August 2018 caused nearly 400 deaths and displaced over 1 million people. There has been widespread damage to roads, bridges, telecommunication lines and railway lines. In addition people suffering the aftermath have to deal with the spread of communicable diseases like Leptospirosis and lack of clean drinking water. Their houses were flooded with dead and live animals including venomous snakes.
