6 youths in Edinburgh Korean Church are participating in 2019 Edinburgh Marathon Festival.

At first, we all had our individual goals. However, after consideration, we have decided to do a charity. Then, one organisation named Homeless Worldcup Foundation (HWF) caught our minds, which their goal is "Football can support and inspire the homeless to change their own lives and to change perceptions and attitudes towards them".

While we thought of a way to participate more directly rather than just donating money, we noticed that The 19th Homeless Worldcup is going to be held in Cardiff, Wales this year so we thought it would be significant for us to go there and support them.

Financial supports are indeed essential. However, we are aiming to aid homeless people to once again step into the society by helping them psychologically so that they can gain self-esteem, following the vision and goals of HWF. At the end of July, we are planning to visit Cardiff and support each player as a fan and give them gifts with warm love. Furthermore, before and after the games, we will do activities towards the crowds, to change their perceptions regarding homeless people. Thus, via crowdfunding, not by fundraising, we wish to do the activities mentioned above from supports by supporters JUST LIKE YOU!

It is estimated that there are 1.5 million homeless people around the world. And the function of HWF is to change homeless people's lives and to make them as a part of the society once again with healthy condition. Although the event itself is less highlighted compared to other major sporting events, we sincerely believe that SPORTS CAN CHANGE THE WORLD.

Two of our members Yegyeong Yun, Sehee Hwang will run 5K marathon and other two, Yujeong Kim, Serin Hwang will do 10K marathon on 25th May Saturday. On 26th Sunday, the other two guys Hyosung Shin and Sihwan Hong will do Half marathon. Currently, we have our own target time and are training hard to meet our goals.

Any kind of encouragements is sincerely appreciated, including financial support to our activities for Homeless Worldcup.

EVEN A PENNY IS WORTH AND HAS MEANINGS TO US.

We genuinely hope that our project will not only fight against the current perspectives towards homeless people but also hand over our interest and affections. In reality, sports might only make a small contribution, but we firmly believe that a small contribution can sometimes make a difference.
