Story
Please sponsor my National Three Peaks Challenge to help achieve my goal.
I've been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to volunteer in Mangochi, Malawi for a week in May 2019. During my time I will volunteer in a nurse school and contribute to the construction of a new nursery home.
Other than to help contribute towards the funding of my trip, the money raised will also contribute towards funding the new development, I will be collecting/buying toys, clothes and household essentials to contribute to the lives of Malawian children.
My employer, Johnson & Johnson will then match the funds that I have raised, Johnson & Jonson, work with Open Arms Malawi to run this project on an annual basis and I this year have an amazing opportunity to contribute to such a worthy cause.
Today 1,890 babies will be born in Malawi. 320 will become orphans, half because of HIV/AIDS. 87 will die before their first birthday from malnutrition or illness. And that is why the charity Open Arms Malawi exists.
To raise money for this cause I am taking on the National Three Peaks Challenge in May, where I will travel 462 miles, walk 23 miles and a total ascent of 3064 metres (10,052ft), in 48 hours.
Please sponsor the challenge I have set myself, all donations to help achieve my goal will be hugely appreciated by myself and those I meet in Malawi.

5 years agoOn Saturday, 30 minutes into my climb of Scafell Pike I unfortunately tripped on a rock and twisted my knee. This resulted in me not being able to complete the remainder of the challenge and enjoyed a trip to A&E instead. I am devastated that I was unable to complete this challenge, but didn’t want to do any further damage to my knee had I carried on. The money that you have donated will still go towards this great cause, however if you feel due to no completion that you would like your money back please let me know! Emma x

5 years agoHi guys, I firstly want to say a massive thank you for all of the donations, well wishes and support that I have received for my three peaks challenge. On Friday it took 7 hours and 20 minutes to reach the summit of Ben Nevis, during this time I faced a wide variety of weather but the view was definitely worth the struggle!
