Hi my name is John Parry and i have been living in Pain for over 10 years .I've got what the consultant calls irreplaceable nerve damaged with effects my left leg being numb and in cruciating pain 24/7 .I have a great wife who is my carer and looks after my children who are all on the Autism spectrum.Three years ago my condition got really bad and now have a arachnoid cyst and severe depression with morbid PTSD so my consultant said i need a chair He got me a OT from the council. I got my house modified for my powered wheelchair (which i still haven't got) the council spent £35,000 .However when my chair came out It was Too big for my outside lift ,even after they had all the measurements.Then a few months later they changed the chair for a smaller footprint but again it was too big .So my OT and Lift engineer the same one;s that approved the one i have now in storage. They have put in for another grant to do major adaptations ,all this time not having a powered chair they showed me the plans yesterday however its got to go thru planning and this could take another year getting depressed as i cant go out.all this time i haven't got my own independence another long wait .My car isn't going to be modified now until the work outside and my chair is approved .I cant even get a grant My mental health is deteriorating with all this stress. I can not afford a power chair due to my financial situation. I am looking for £2000 to buy a foldable electric power chair that will give me my independence back .I haven't took this lightly by asking for Donating but when the wheelchair and OT assessor told me the bad news regarding not getting my chair because of the outside lift being too small I ended up in Hospital with a mental breakdown.
