Story
Homeless in the UK is on the rise. This is devastating news to hear, but without action, this will only get worse! People become homeless for many reasons often out of their control, once homeless it then becomes increasingly difficult to get help.
On average, homeless people die at just 47 years old and people sleeping on the street are almost 17 times more likely to have been victims of violence. More than one in three people sleeping rough have been deliberately hit or kicked or experienced some other form of violence whilst homeless. Homeless people are also over nine times more likely to take their own life than the general population.
The sub zero temperatures we are currently facing makes it even harder to survive.
In light of this, I am working with the Geoff Horsfield Foundation to put a stop to homelessness in Birmingham and surrounding areas. So far we have managed to raise enough money to supply the homeless with near 100 mats and thermal blankets as well as gifting almost 50 "Christmas Presents" containing essentials and luxury items to make Christmas as special as it could be on the streets.
We are now going to be sleeping rough at St Andrews Stadium on Friday 15th February from 8pm to 8am in order to raise money for the Geoff Horsfield foundation, to help put a STOP to homelessness.
Please dig deep and donate - if everyone does a little, nobody has to do alot.
Thank you
