Last year, we 3 girls went to Uganda to help the poorest of the poor in the rural district of Kiyindi by Lake Victoria. The 2 team leaders from this project have been establishing an orphanage/boarding school which they have built from scratch with the help of local labourers, which at present has a collapsed wall but houses many children of all ages in need of clothing, food and shoes, ongoing education, sponsorship and modern sanitation.

Alongside this, a medical centre, which was also built as part of this project, is in desperate need of refurbishment, medical resources and medicines for its depleted pharmacy and crude dental practice which only specialises in tooth extraction. The maternity room with 1 midwife delivered 40 babies singlehandedly during the month we were there last summer with 1 bed, 1 cot and 1 set of instruments.

This problem is being resolved through the children who are very hardworking and diligent pupils to get out of the poverty trap, ambitious to follow in the footsteps of the midwife and teaching staff, who are already a direct product of this project. And these children are therefore aspiring to be nurses, doctors, teachers and to work in the administration of this project.

We urgently need the means for this project and to go again this July. We are supporting this nonprofit making project firsthand and on the ground. There are no administration demands, no middle men, no fat cats. All proceeds go directly to this need which is changing lives for the good.
