Story
In July 2019, I will be travelling to Peru with Camps International for 4 weeks. This is an amazing opportunity for me to make a difference to people's lives who are in desperate need of things that we take for granted. While I am there, my group will be a part of various projects in multiple locations around the country. The money raised will go towards the materials needed for all the life-changing projects that we will be a part of.
I will be building new toilet facilities in the village of Moray, which is an extremely poor area with no basic sanitation or sewerage. Camps International is aiming install toilets in every house in the village so that every person has access to a toilet.
As well as this, I will be improving school facilities in two regions of Peru. At both the Colca Canyon and Lake Titicaca, restoring school facilities for the children and building greenhouses is the main focus. Malnutrition is one of the most prevalent issues that the country faces. The extreme remoteness of these locations makes it difficult for surrounding regions to help. Along side this, some reforestation work is also on our to do list!
