    Story

I am trying to raise money for my friend and her family who are being made homeless through no fault of their own.

Roughly seven years ago, Sara and her 4 young children had to leave their home and move into rented accommodation in order to escape an abusive relationship. Four years after moving into their new home, Sara and her family were made homeless for the first time, due to their landlord failing to pay the mortgage on the house with the rent money they had been paying him.

Sara and the children managed to find a deposit for a small home to temporarily rent, until they could find a big enough house either renting or through the council. They lived in this house for 2 years, until Sara managed to find a more suitable house for her family; the house they currently live in. When moving to their current house the previous landlord decided to keep the family’s £800 deposit due to disagreements in regards to the house being redecorated. Sara has now been living in her current house for just over a year with her 4 children.

Over the last seven years one of Sara’s children (10yo) has been diagnosed with Autism, ADHD, and Epilepsy, and another (15yo) with Aspergers.

Now, as of the end of December, Sara will once again be made homeless due to the current owners of the house deciding to sell. The new owners will not be renting the house out, so there is no possibility of Sara and her family remaining there. Sara has also re-applied to the city council, however as she is not yet technically homeless, they cannot consider her so, and they have no house big enough for Sara and her children. In the last week, Sara has been made aware of a house that will shortly be available. Sara would be able to afford this house, however at this short notice and this close to Christmas Sara will not be able to provide a deposit.

I am hoping to raise as much money as possible to give to this family to help towards finding a home.

Hopefully you will be able to help me in making this happen.

    Thank you x
