Rhian Thomas was my friend and colleague of almost 13 years. She spent her lifetime rescuing, saving and helping all animals in need. Beautiful Rhian left this life in December 2018, aged only 49. Her husband Dan manages the amazing Barby Keel Animal Sanctuary in Bexhill, where Rhian spent huge amounts of time caring for rescue animals. Rhian is painfully missed by everyone who knew her and her passing has left a huge hole in both the human world and the animal kingdom. It was Rhian's wish that in her memory, all proceeds raised would go to Barby Keel's.

In memory of Rhian and to support her husband through this hugely challenging time, myself and my partner will be running the Hastings Half Marathon on 24th March 2019 to raise much needed funds for Barby Keel Animal Sanctuary who work tirelessly rescuing and rehoming animals in and around East Sussex, and further afield. Barby Keel is completely voluntarily funded and your money is essential to the sanctuary. Without public funding, they could not exist.

So this goes out to those who knew Rhian, those who never did, all those who were touched by her kindness. Friends, colleagues, customers of Trinity Wholefood's, those who have had contact with Barby Keel Animal Sanctuary, animal lovers everywhere, all those who've rescued animals and knows the utter joy that animals bring, and anyone who would like to support kindness in this world.
