Aldabra Giant Tortoises are natural bioengineers of the island of Curieuse in the Seychelles. However, they are currently classified as vulnerable on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species due to habitat destruction and poaching. Over two months time I will be tracking tortoises movements using GPS in relation to their ecology, infrastructure and human activity on the island of Curieuse. Further investigation will be carried on the island to understand why tortoises are successfully surviving there and also to see if they can be reintroduced in other locations to build new ecosystems.
