At 6am on July 14th 2019 I will be in a cold lake just south of Bolton and will be standing by for the start whistle of a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile cycle & a 26.2 mile run.

In 2016, I signed up for my first half Ironman triathlon unable to swim 50 metres without stopping nor having owned a race bike. I feel like I have made some improvements since then, including owning a race bike and successfully completing a number of triathlons. Two and a half years later, I am ready and able to complete the full Ironman distance and, with your help and support, hope to raise money for Birkett House Special School.

Birkett House is a school for pupils aged 4 - 19 who have a range of learning needs and disabilities. My nephew has attended the school for a number of years and I have seen the development and progress he has made. I would like to give something back to the school to allow them to continue to help and support children within the local community.
