Story
Working with horses helps to improve confidence, creates calmness, supports dexterity and mobility. Having access to be able to ride and learn about horse management all year rounds means we can help more people to live better lives.
We are delighted that planning permission has been given to build a new indoor horse arena at the college. This will be an affordable, accessible facility which can be used by both the students and the community.
What the students think:
"I like college because I feel safe with teachers. I want to graduate and I find my job. I want to go back to college and I want to do some teaching. I like doing Art and Design and Horse Riding. I achieved Art and Design, working with animals. I like Horse Riding, I want staff to help me getting on the horse.
I feel struggling to get on, I feel shaky with the horse moving and I enjoy horse riding. I’m glad to be in college and I’m growing up now. I like having fun with my friends and staff are my good friends and they made me feel welcome. My advice to you guys I’m going to spend my life missing you and you are not alone. I will be back to college; I will be teaching. "
"The college has helped me a great deal, I used to get very frustrated and argue a lot with people, now I am more confident and independent "
"The college really supported me by getting me lots of work experience and getting me out into the big wide world "
Any donation, no matter how small will mean the college can continue to work to help disabled people to reach their goals, live more independently and have better futures.
