Story
On a late November day in 2015 Martin aris was sitting with his father Les and 2 children Milly and lloyd the children were bored not having anything tobso. Martin being a massive boxing fan his father told him to open a boxing club for the children and adults in the local area of northfleet after discussing names Les decided on FLEET BOXING, Martin spoke to the owner of the local gym and after they came to an agreement on the 1st of December 2015 fleet boxing opened its doors for the first time.
Starting from nothing to now being in the London ABC everyone who works at our club are all volunteers. We teach all ages and abilities also children and adults with autism, anxiety, ADHD and those who have been affected by bulling we treat everyone the same. We have a great team at fleet boxing and each coach has Thier own techniques which is why we work so well as a team sadly we run on donations from parents and other local clubs. martins late dad was our chairman, he became very poorly and was fighting a horrible disease, Martin also suffered his own illness where he had major surgery in Oct 2018 which left the right side of his face paralyzed. Sadly martins dad passed away peacefully on the 1st of November 2018. Despite losing his father and his own illness Martin has kept doing what he does best, his love of boxing and his children have kept him strong and on the right path
Saturday the 16th of Feb myself and some of the parents and children will be walking 17 miles from blackheath back to the gym to suprise martin with the money we raise from the walk for the club to help buying new equipment that we need following the growth of the club
Any donations are extremely appreciated
Thank you
Bonnie
