Story
The Friends of the Trent Vale Trail are close to creating a multi-user path from Collingham to Besthorpe (Phase 2a) followed by Besthorpe to North Clifton (Phase 2b).
We are very confident of receiving 92% of the funding to achieve Phase 2a but we need to raise 8% more (match funding), which is approximately £14,000. We need to do this very quickly because without it, we will lose this funding!
The route will link Collingham to the Notts Wildlife Trust Reserve at Besthorpe, the Sailing Club at Girton and the Pureland Meditation and Japanese Garden at North Clifton plus other local amenities. It will connect the villages of Besthorpe, Girton, South Clifton and North Clifton to Collingham and Newark by providing a safe walking and cycling route from Newark to North Clifton away from the very busy A1133.

5 years agoWe have now raised £13,400 with BIG THANKS to the local parish councils, N&SDC, Cllr Maureen Dobson and the many people who donated on our crowdfunding page. In April we have received great news that LEADER (EU Fund) will pay for all the construction work for the link from Collingham, via Besthorpe Nature Reserve to Besthorpe. It is hoped we can complete the work this autumn. The £13,400 will go towards the cost of the CDM coordinator and some of the niceties we are looking to implement. 6 years agoSome fantastic news: Collingham Parish Council have just offered a £5,000 contribution towards our Match-Funding. " "THANK YOU VERY MUCH." So just £1,500 to go. Anything over that can pay for some extras like a few benches along the route.
