Story
In January 2019, Ryan Twigg from Rotherham Round Table and Tanya Harder from Southampton Ladies Circle, joined forces to help raise money for Freedom Through Education. We raised £6200 which got split between 5 mini projects to help build infrastructure.
Since our tour of India and Bangladesh, we have found our experience such an eye opener. There are many great experiences that we have taken away with us along with so many memories and friendships. However, some of the experiences had truly hit home. the little things we take for granted, are the things the children in underprivileged conditions appreciate more than we realise. A pencil to us is just a pencil to write with. A pencil to the children is a tool of gaining an education to start having a better life.
So with both of us agreeing to our decision, we will be continuing this tour over the next few years, along with helping as much as we can from the UK.
To start off with, We will be collecting sanitary items for Tanya to be able to go over and help teach the young ladies all about how to use them. We will be collecting stationary such as pens, notepads and reading books of all ages, which will help children towards learning to write and read.
We have created this page to help get donations so we can provide education books, stationary and equipment to help provide a better educational experience for these children in India.
Any donation, no matter how small, is truly appreciated.
