Story
One of the most misunderstood and most stigmatised issues with mental health difficulties is self-harm and it's something I have struggled with for years.
On July 23rd 2017, I am going to walk from Pakefield to Lowestoft baring my arms and tackling head-on exactly what it is like for anyone living with self-harm scars.
You can join me. You can walk with me if you have scars, if you want to support someone like me who has battled self-harm or just to show your support. You don't have to "get your scars out" if you don't want to. I will - but then, this was my idea!
People say I'm brave. Usually, I disagree with them but for me, this IS brave. For many people living with self-harm scars, the summer is blighted by our fear of being judged, of wanting to hide away our scars... and getting very, very hot!
Join me - we have to talk about self-harm, we have to educate young people about how hard it is to stop once you start and we have to find better ways of treating it.
We have to break the stigma, start the conversation and help people whose lives are tough enough already, live with their scars and enjoy a summer's day.
Our scars show we're struggling but we're surviving and we're fighting a battle to stay alive. And we need your help. We're not weak - we're warriors fighting a battle and we bear the scars from that battle.
All money raised will be donated to Great Yarmouth and Waveney Mind and held in a restricted fund to support the causes Fight the Stigma consider to be priorities.

In December 2016, I was shocked and delighted to be awarded the Star of Norfolk and Waveney award for my work campaigning about Mental Health and tackling the stigma associated with Mental Health difficulties. All money raised will managed by Great Yarmouth and Waveney MIND
