Turtle population in malaysia has had a devastating drop which makes them an endangered animal. The most endangered turtle in malaysia is the leatherback turtle which population has dropped by 99% these turtles are on the brink of extinction. By helping to monitor them, we can help the Perhentian turtle project preserve turtle populations. We will also be participating in 2 other conservation projects including the Perhentian marine reseach project which helps sustain coral reefs and the Perhentian eco education project which ensures tourism to the island is sustainable. We will also be exploring Belum-Temenggor's relatively untouched forest to learn about the forest which has 14 of the world's most endangered mammals including mammals such as the white handed gibbon and the asiatic elephant.
