Hi Everyone!!

I'll keep this as brief as I can, I promise!

This December I will be running the Pisa marathon, to celebrate my 50th Birthday on the 18th!

So, as I don't need anything or want anything I thought that I would something nice for a change and raise some money for a couple of charities, and that is the reason you are reading this!

For those that don't know me, I have served in the Ambulance service now for 21 years and before that I was In the Royal Air Force, and Army reserves for several years before that.

As people ALWAYS say, "bet you've seen some sights eh?" - well yes I have. So have my colleagues and as a result of this constant exposure, some of my green family have suffered. Some unfortunately couldn't take it anymore, and we miss them.

Additionally, I have met and know some amazing people (friends and patients) who have done far more than me in a military sense. Many of them or their friends continue to fight the demons they have inherited.

So with this in mind I am going to support 2 charities and will divide the money equally between them:

The Campaign Against Living Miserably - CALM is a leading a movement against male suicide, the single biggest killer of men under 45 in the UK. My phenomenal friends and colleagues within the Salford Group actively support CALM with The Captains' Challenge; it's time to do my bit...

The Veterans Garage - Created by a group of Ex Service family members, the garage provides a unique, modern and forward thinking social hub with the added back up of welfare support for veterans. The Veterans garage is located on Barton Airfield, Irlam; so this is a very local charity which will directly benefit the local veterans and our whole community as a whole.

SO!!! Rather than buy me a pint to celebrate or a bottle of whiskey or port, Could you please please please just donate a couple of quid or the price of a pint.
