im a 49 yr old man who was in a road traffic accident at the age of 13 i was waiting for bus home from school when a drunk driver mounted the kirb and hit me i was awarded money from the court and this was put away until i was 18 i recieved with inteest 1200 pound yes one thousand two hundred pounds i married my wife at 19 yrs we meet the first day of secondary school and we have been together ever since we have 2 sons 25 and 28 my wife is my main carere now i have had a left hip replaced 12 yrs ago i need the right hip replaced and my main injury at time of accident was my left knee it is now bone to bone and i go into hospitial on the 25th oct 18 for pre op preperation due to the way i have walked since the accident i have stenoisis of the lower spine i also have rumotoid arthritus in my knees hips ebows and worst of it in my hands and fingers the one i feel sory for is my wife she does everything for me i now i am being tested for bowel cancer im telling you all this as i have financial issues putting in a electric bed to help me get in and out of bed set us back 2000 pound we saved hard to get this and modifying our front door so that when i use the wheel chair it is able to open wide enough again we paid for this after putting what ever we could manage to put away until we got the money to get it done we also preped our yard at the front of the house to get a ramp installed but we havent been able to do this as we havent put the money together yet and the shower needs modifyed so i can get the wheel chair in when i use it the cost of this is more than im looking for but if i was lucky enough for anyone to help it would be truly appreciated my wife works and has dobe for 30 yrs at same job i have worked until i could not thank you for reading i did apply for grants but was turned down as we were 14 pound over the limit they set to get the grant again thank you for your time and if i dont meet what i require to help us and only a small amount if any i will give this to cancer and arthritus charities
