Story
I, along with other's, will be walking to 18 special school's all across Essex in just 5 day's. To put that into perspective that is just under 150 miles and works out to more than a marathon a day. The walk will not only raise funds but awareness of what makes a special school. Too many children leave education without having an understanding about our differences and it is the aim of council to change all that. We have worked with over 100 schools in Essex and the children generate all our ideas on how to break down perceptions - and this is just another example. We wish for our work in Essex to be replicated in other counties and eventually ensure SEND awareness forms part of our national curriculum. By supporting our walk you will generate funds that will give more children the platform to be heard and if we shout loud enough someone will hear us in the end.

5 years agoFirstly, a massive, MASSIVE thank-you to everyone who has supported us! We did it! We walked just over 150 miles in just 5 day's, going to 18 special schools on route and raising awareness about what these schools do and who attends them. This is just the start of our awareness raising journey! However, to be sustainable we need to ensure we have funds in the bank. Your donations are already making a difference and we would love to hit the £3000 milestone before Wednesday's deadline!

6 years agoDue to your generosity and our continued support from other organisations we are very pleased to drop our target down to 80,000. I am very hopeful that within the next few months as we get closer to the walk we will receive more support so that we can hit this target! I want to thank everybody who has donated so far and would ask you for your continued support by sharing this page end encouraging others to join you in supporting us! Thank-you so much, Kierran
