Call me biased .....but I honestly believe that Elke 'B' has the most beautiful smile in the world and the cheeriest giggle ever!

She is an absolute ray of sunshine who lights up our world and has kept me out of mischief for 14 and a half years ..... so far!
And we celebrate every day that we have had and those yet to come as all of these have been stolen from the jaws of darkness 💕

Elke is a fighter!

She fought to survive her first day and she has fought a variety of battles every day since, I KNOW she will continue to battle everyday yet I am also very aware that one of these battles has become harder and she is now fighting with gravity itself to stay with us 💕

Elke's was starved of oxygen and suffered severe brain damage which has left her profoundly disabled. She cannot talk, move by herself, feed herself, change her clothes or wash herself. She is fed via a tube straight into her stomach, has epilepsy , is visually impaired, requires a wheelchair for moving around , hoisting to get her from one piece of equipment to another , an adapted car , a special bed , mattress, bath , changing table , armchair and slings andxstanding jackets !

Elke's condition is known as hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy or HIE . She also has scoliosis of the spine and osteoporosis .

But enough of this doom and gloom ... it is what it is and we will work with what we have to continue to give Elke all the opportunities for fun that we can ......

But we need YOUR help too !

I was approached by one of the Wish charities who suggested a trip to Disney World its a lovely thing to do it but it wasn't Elke's burning wish to do .... so we declined so that other families could have that opportunity .

Elke's first giraffe , Godfrey, arrived for her 1st Christmas .... Thus the dream of getting Elke to giraffe manor in Nairobi was born. It s a huge task but we will fight for it! Please share and follow the journey I will put the link in updates thank you x
