    Story

Firstly, many thanks to all of you landing on this page, taking time out of your day to show an interest, it is much appreciated.

I promise not to ramble (too much) and try not to bore you all to tears. This is new territory and I politely ask you bear with

My name is Matt, I live with my better half Clare and we are the proud owners (mum and dad) to brother and sister 7 year old Labradors Jet and Jessie.

Without wanting to over dramatise, our dogs are our life. Having been told many years ago that children would not be a possibility for us, the love and affection we have been able to share with our beautiful animals has proved significant solace.

As I'm sure many of you reading this will already understand, Labradors are the most loving, loyal, warm hearted animals you could wish to spend time in the company of, Jet and Jessie are exactly this.....with a rascally, mischievous side to boot.

Playtime is all the time and we wouldn't have it any other way.

Which is why, when Jet suddenly became quiet and withdrawn recently, we sensed something wasn't quite right.

We sought veterinary advice, upon which it was discovered that Jet was suffering from Thoracolumbar Disc Disease (slipped disc to you and I).

Initially a conservative treatment plan was mapped out involving regular painkillers to aid the distress Jet was clearly suffering with.

Following subsequent MRI scans however, we have been advised that surgery is necessary.

As a puppy Jet contracted MRSA and as such, we knew wouldn't be covered by the relevant insurance.

We are not high earners, nor do we have savings to fall back on, so we have spent every spare hour wracking our brains to think of ways to raise the £4,500.00 needed to cover the cost of treatment, hence the page you are reading now.

Neither me or Clare find it comfortable asking for financial aid but we put our faith in the kind hearted, generosity of others to help in our efforts to give Jet his quality of life back again.

    Thankyou
