Story
So it's Christmas. Personally, I don't really care that much for it. I can't stand watching TV, I'm not a big fan of consumerism and I'm dubious about the story of Jesus Christ. But it's a big deal for a lot of people and it can be heart breaking for those who simply are unable to join in the festivities at this time of year. So I decided that rather than be a grinch (or Troll) and moan about how much I can't stand Christmas, instead I would turn that negativity into something positive for those that do care.
I decided to forfeit my Christmas this year and instead open up the burger shack and serve up Christmassy burgers and chips, all made with quality organic and local ingredients to those who are less fortunate than myself. That of course includes the homeless, but also those who may not have friends and family or those who are just really struggling financially at the moment and are stressing about not being able to afford christmas dinner.
There will be no judgement, no need to prove how needy you are, no shame. There will be a suggested donation for those who can afford it but want to come along anyway. Any surplus food or profits from this fundraising effort will be donated to the homeless charity First Base in Hove.
I'll be playing banging tunes and hope to create a great street party atmosphere around the shack. I may even be convinced to play the odd Christmas song....we shall see ;-)
