Story
The Ambulance Boat serving the people of this remote rural village in Malawi is dead in the water and we need your help. Government funds are no longer forthcoming and therefore transfer of critically ill patients to hospital is near impossible. With no roads, women in labour, children with cerebral malaria and fishermen with life threatening injuries are forced to walk 6 hrs to get the treatment they need. If they make it at all. We have estimated that £500 will cover fuel and employ a boat driver for 6 months at an average of 1 journey per week. £15 would cover the cost of a return journey, possibly saving a life.
Anything you can give will go directly to running the boat and getting the people of Ruarwe the access to medical treatment they desperately need.

Beautiful People!! We've raised an astonishing £720 for the Ruarwe ambulance boat. After the boat had been stationary for several months we thought of what we could do to get the boat on the water while important negotiations with the local health department goes on (always lengthy). We, sightly reluctantly, decided to put it out amongst our friends and family to see if together we could get the boat back on the water for a few months. What we can achieve with these donations is so much more. Thank you all so much Leah xx
