Story
Thank you for visiting Nicola’s just giving page.
Unfortunately Nicola’s treatment options with the NHS are now coming to an end. The NHS have given Nicola two years of life left, that is not long enough.
Nicola is 32 years old, has two children, Owen and Ava and husband Alex.
Nicola is fun and never takes herself too seriously, coupled with a great sense of humour and genuine happiness, time spent with Nicola always results in laughing too much. She is an amazing mother, selfless, happy and great at hugs. Nicola’s happy times cannot end, its far far too soon.
Nicola’s cancer journey started at only 15 and was diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer).
The tumour was located in her right leg. Nicolas resilience and strength of character shone, as she went through six cycles of life saving chemotherapy and countless surgeries. One surgery was to remove a lot of bone and her entire right knee which was replaced with a metal prosthetic.
Unfortunately due to a severe case of septicaemia Nicola had to have an above the knee amputation in 2011. This was a hugely life changing operation. Again, Nicola rallied and got through it, rehabilitation and hard work allowed her to proudly walk down the aisle in 2015. It was an amazing emotional achievement. In 2013 Nicola was diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer, the cancer had laid dormant for 14 years and now had decided to grow. It was thought that the cancer had been removed with surgery but in 2015 it came back with intensity.
The money raised will fund Nicolas treatment, Nicola will give weekly updates and will keep you all informed with her progress. Nicola has got through everything life has thrown at her and she will not give up now but needs your help.
Nicola is my cousin and beautiful friend, I need her, but she is needed much much more by her children and husband.
Please can everyone support our Nicola, this is lifesaving treatment and anything you contribute will make a huge difference,
Thank you,
Em xx
