    Story

The Salty Selkies Swim for Beach Wheelchairs.

We all love to spend precious time on the beach with our families and friends. Unfortunately for those in wheelchairs it's not that easy. However, Beach Wheelchairs help make it possible. Their powered chairs make the impossible happen and allow life changing experiences for the individuals using them.

However, Beach Wheelchairs are unable to meet the high demand for these chairs and so need to raise a whopping £18,500 to buy another chair. Please help us, help them, to raise these vital funds to give more people the freedom and access to our wonderful beaches that so many of us take for granted.

The Salty Selkies will be swimming to The Lamb Island and back on 27th May (weather permitting). We are no strangers to distance swims, but at this time of year the sea is about 12 degrees so making our swim more challenging.

Donations can be made through Just Giving or directly to Beach wheelchairs via the link https://www.beachwheelchairs.org/donations

Can’t say thank you enough times for all the support we’ve received, just fabulous! ❤️ Swim no.2 today went really well. The wind had picked up so the sea was more challenging but it didn’t stop us. Some of us in our wetsuits, Meg in her cossie and the addition of Doug who made himself an honorary Selkie for the day! Such a great swim!
