Story
September 2016 was when my life changed .
Following a routine mammogram I was given the devastating news no one wants to hear , I had breast cancer which had spread to my lymph nodes . The next 15 months were a whirlwind of hospital admissions , hospital appointments and varying scans .
Following 3 breast operations , chemotherapy and radiotherapy I was given the all clear in December 2017 , wonderful news just before Christmas, no more worries or so I thought as my good news soon changed when I was told my MRI scan confirmed I had a tumour in my pancreas . So 2018 has begun with more worries , I have been told I need to have a big operation to remove the tumour , the problem being that my operation has to be done at The Hammersmith hospital in London some 350 miles away , I will be in intensive care post op as well as spending 2 weeks minimum in hospital in London .
I am in desperate need to raise funds to help with my travel costs and accommodation which would enable my daughter to stay in London close by me.
I myself am a nurse who has worked 28 years for the Health service but yet now I am not entitled to any more paid sick leave or any benefits and will not receive any more pay from the health service , knowing this will have a detremental effect on my recovery as I will have to return to my nursing role as soon as I possibly can in order to begin earning a wage again . Any extra donations raised will enable me to recover mentally and physically at my pace .
Thankyou for all your support .
Wendy
Any donation no matter how small will be gratefully received .
