My story

Those of you who know me are fully aware of my passions in life! For more years than I care to remember, one of those has been the Meath Epilepsy Trust, based in Godalming, Surrey.

The Meath supports people living with severe epilepsy, many of whom have serious physical or learning disabilities that make their day to day lives more than a little challenging. The sort of challenges that make my marathon run appear more a walk in the park! I shall be thinking on this as I put in the training and I certainly consider I'm extremely lucky to be able to be doing my bit for the Home from Home Appeal this year.

The Appeal is aiming to raise £2.3 million to build a specialist facility at the Meath to care for twelve people who are living with profoundly complex disabilities. With personally tailored assistive technology planned to help each person take more control in their lives and a dedicated Meath staff team to assist each resident to get the most from each day, you can see why we are calling it 'home from home'.

Now I know that my personal challenge is not going to bring in the whole nine yards! But I can assure you that EVERY penny you donate is going to help make a BIG difference. Sponsor me and you will be helping make life better for some very special people.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe – JustGiving never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the Meath and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Support Colin's Challenge - dig deep and do it NOW!

And "thanks".... from me and everyone at the Meath.

Colin Stokes

The Meath Epilepsy Trust

Charity Registration No. 200359

The Meath Epilepsy Trust provides support and a caring home for more than 60 adults who have severe epilepsy, coupled with a learning disability and in some cases, a physical disability. This debilitating combination of conditions means many of our residents will not reach a point where they can live independently and will spend the rest of their lives with us. We aim to maximise their quality of life by helping them to understand and manage their conditions, and by giving them opportunities they would otherwise miss out on.
