Story
We did it! We all got round without any walking or stopping! Thank you to everyone who has sponsored us, and if you would still like to do so, it's not too late! Thank you so much.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We are doing a 10k run on 13th March 2010 in support of Missing People, a fantastic organisation which helps to reunite friends and family with their loved ones. You can read more about the excellent work carried out by Missing People at their website http://www.missingpeople.org.uk/. Missing People is close to our hearts, as they have been helping us in our attempts to find Greg. Greg is Gemma’s and Dominic’s brother and James’ brother-in-law, whom he has not yet met. Greg wandered out of our lives in 2001, when he set off to see the world, telling us that he had a brand new passport and he’d see us in 10 years’ time when his passport expired. We thought he was joking, but aside from a brief contact in 2006, when he wrote to Gemma and we all spoke to him on the phone, that was it. He moved on before any of us could get to Inverness, where he was living at the time, to see him. During that time, he had walked around much of Eastern Europe and had many adventures, some good, some bad. Greg chooses to live outdoors whenever he can, so telephones, computers and the internet simply don’t figure in his life. He doesn’t see himself as missing, just busy. It’s a strange feeling when someone you’ve grown up with has been away for so long that they don’t know the person you are married to, don’t know some of their nieces and nephews, don’t know about relatives who have died in the intervening period. You wonder sometimes if the missing person is still alive and there are so many other unanswered questions. Please support Missing People, who help to answer these questions for so many people. And please cross your fingers that we get some answers too.
