Cultural History Prize/Schoalrship Fund, 17 April 2007

Story

In 2007, it was twenty-one years since the start of the Cultural History programme at Aberdeen, and in order to mark this occasion, we organised an international conference 'Varieties of Cultural History' which took place in Aberdeen in July 2007 and at which an International Society for Cultural History was founded. Also, to mark the 'coming-of-age' of the cultural history programme, and the founding of a new MLitt in Cultural History, we established the Cultural History Prize/Schoalrship fund. In the first instance, we intend that this will be used to support a prize for the best cultural history essay or dissertation by a University of Aberdeen student.

We welcome donations towards this prize. Recently, generous donations have been made by a former member of staff, Morag Charity, a recent graduate in cultural history, and Ben Marsden, a current member of the cultural history staff. A further contribution towards the fund was raised by a raffle at the 'Varieties of Cultural History conference'

Donating through justgiving is fast and secure. By donating through justgiving.com, you can also allow the University to take advantage of gift aid. As a UK taxpayer, the University can claim back the tax spent on your gift, which allows the us to claim an extra 28p on every pound that you donate.
