As well as responding to disasters and emergencies, it promotes sustainable economic and social development by working with local communities - regardless of race, religion or gender.

What is Charity Week in brief?

Charity Week is a student led initiative as to raise as much money as possible for orphans around the world regardless of race, religion, colour, belief or gender and without expecting anything in return.

Currently in its 5th year, the project has raised over £646,000 which has gone towards building and maintaining orphanages, as well as sponsoring hundreds of orphans worldwide.

Originally starting out amongst the Islamic Societies in London, it has since spread across the UK, Ireland and even parts of Australia!
