The Prince Henry's Cycle Challenge 2009 · 19 August 2009

Acorns supports more than 800 children and over 1,100 families every year. The charity needs to raise £14 million each year to provide its care services across hospices and community settings. Your support means Acorns can continue to be there for local families facing the unimaginable.

Story

Eight old school friends are embarking on the challenge of a lifetime together - nearly a decade after leaving school. We have decided to cycle the fantastic London to Paris cycle route over a four-day period from 19th to 22nd August 2009. We have organised and funded the whole event ourselves (bikes, accessories, transport, accommodation & clothing). In addition to cycling the 300+ mile route, we will be transporting everything we need on our bikes with us. As well as being a gruelling personal endurance challenge for each one of us 'amateur' cyclists, we are also raising money for the Acorns Children's Hospice.

Acorns is a charity that cares for children that are life-limited, and offers suitable support to their families. More information about the charity and the valuable service they offer can be found at www.acorns.org.uk.

The team of Carter, Clatworthy, Drew, Soave, Teasdale, Twine, Ward and Waring would all greatly appreciate your support if you would be kind enough to offer a donation (no matter how small) to the charity of our choice. None of us have experienced a physical and mental challenge of this nature previously, but with your kind support, we know we will succeed, raise money for a good cause and hopefully enjoy ourselves in the process!!
