Cycle for Miracles
Fundraising for The Winnicott Foundation CIO
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
A year and a half ago our little girl Emilia was born 10 weeks premature with a large tumour on her back. She had to undergo a 7hr operation to remove the tumour when she was a day old (minus 10 weeks). She then spent nearly 8 weeks at the Winnicott Unit in St Mary’s Hospital in London. Without the Unit and its incredible staff Emilia would not be with us today. They saved our little miracle’s life and they gave our family an enormous support to get through the most difficult and trying time of our lives! Therefore Emilia's dad James and her uncle Kalle have decided to raise money for the Winnicott Foundation (Charity No 292668), which supports the Unit, so that they can continue their fantastic work. This is also a way for us to try and show our immense gratitude for saving our daughter’s life!!!!! James and Kalle are training to participate in the Lake Vattern, which is a cycle race in the south of Sweden on the 18th June 2010. This is a huge task as the route is 186 miles (300km) long. They will start in the evening of the 18th and will not finish the race until the 19th of June. We have a blog where you can read more about Emilia our family and also follow the training leading up to the race in June. www.cycleformiracles.wordpress.com.
