The University of St Andrews Charities Campaign holds events throughout the year to raise money for Maggie's Cancer Care, UNICEF, and nightline. We also support students to fund-raise for other charitable causes. More information: www.charities-campaign.org.uk

Story

Hello! I'm Andrew, a final year Computer Science student at the University of St Andrews. This summer, I (along with 7 other students) will be cycling 3000 miles along the ancient Silk Road, from Xi'an in China to Tashkent in Uzbekistan, passing through all kinds of terrain, from lakes to deserts to cities to mountains.

We're raising money for two very worthwhile charities: we will be helping The Elnura Foundation to support street children in Kazakhstan, funding the maintenance of shelter for, and education of, working and homeless children. We are also supporting Fauna & Flora International, who carry out valuable conservation work the world over, with our funds helping specifically with Snow Leopard conservation efforts in Central Asia.

Any money donated will go straight to these charities (the expedition costs are for us to worry about), and anything you can give would be very much appreciated :)
