My name is Dickon Broadhurst and from the 7th of February, I will be cycling approximately 8,000 miles from Cairo to Cape Town through 9 countries in order to arrive in South Africa in time for the World Cup.

With help from my friend and cycling partner, Duncan Hills, we aim to raise £20,000 for ‘Land Aid’ and ‘Footballs For Fun’. Land Aid provide the young and disadvantaged with the facilities and opportunities to thrive and develop. Footballs For Fun helps distribute proper footballs (painfully rare in such a football mad continent) throughout Africa. Part of the money provided for each football is then distributed to a number of organisations that provide aid to sick children in Africa. In order to help me raise as much as possible, I have made a little video (with help) that I hope you enjoy.

Please have a read of the important work that both the charities that we represent carry out.

Donate whatever you can. It is our belief that should if we reach our target of £20,000, England will win! Your country needs you….!

Oh and please check the website for updates www.cycletothecup.co.uk
