On 19th/20th September 2015 Richard Lord will participate in the Challenge Cancer North event by cycling 100km (62 miles) from Manchester to Leeds and, never one to do half a job, he'll then turn around and cycle the 100km back to Manchester.  That's 200km (about 125 miles) twice over the Pennines within a day!

Richard's motivation is twofold;.Firstly to fund-raise for a very worthy cause, Cancer Research UK.  Secondly by preparing for the event he hopes to get back into shape and regain his personal fitness for the first time in many years.

Richard says; "Your sponsorship and encouragement will motivate me to persevere in this challenge.  Those who know me will understand that I've chosen to embark on a very significant personal challenge. I will not find it at all easy to complete it but that's not the reason I'm doing this. I really do want to get fit again and the idea of raising money to benefit others very good cause while doing so seems like a good idea.
