Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

As many of you will know, we've been busy. Busy cycling. Through the Cheviot Hills, the Yorkshire Wolds, the Howardian Hills; on-road and off-road; in hail, wind, rain and blazing sun. Almost every Saturday without fail since Easter, we've been exploring the beauty of Yorkshire and beyond, covering a distance of over 800 miles to date in preparation for our 100-mile challenge. At times it's been agonizing - Daniel almost fainted in Scarborough and Catherine went blue - but mostly it's been simply awesome, and we can't wait (I don't think...?) for the 14th August when we'll get to cycle in a group of over 300 around the sights and heights of Yorkshire.

But we're not just doing this for a good laugh, unsurprisingly. We want to raise some money for a fantastic cause in the process. We have chosen the Prince of Wales Hospice in Pontefract as our sponsored charity, as they took care of Catherine's Uncle Rob through his illness, supporting both him and his family through the most difficult of times.

"The Prince of Wales Hospice improves the quality of life for people with a life-limiting illness. We provide specialist care and support for our patients, and also for their families and friends – who often need us just as much. We try to give each individual just what they need to enjoy the best quality of life they can."

Any donation, no matter how small (or large) will be appreciated by the Hospice and by us both. We want to raise as much as we can to say thank you to the hospice for all they've done over the past year. Please do take the time to give what you can - it'll give us some extra morale when we're slogging it up Bulmer Bank after 7 hours of cycling on 14th August, that's for sure!!

Finally, we've been writing a blog over the past few months to record this adventure. If you want to check out some photos and stories from our training then please do pop by at http://cycling100miles.blogspot.com/
