Story

Gday and thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

On the 20th February I will be pushing my chicken-legs to their limit with a cycle across the length of Australia from Sydney on the East Coast arriving in the western coastal city of Perth approximately two and a half months later at the start of May in aid of MacMillan Cancer support.

3,000 miles of kangaroo's, koalas and (hopefully very few) crocs.

The reason for choosing MacMillan in particular was because I was diagnosed with a non-Hodgkin lymphoma strand of cancer at the age of ten and the selfless work of MacMillan nurses helped me and my family to understand the condition and overcome it. Thirteen years on and the nurses are still providing support and advice with yearly check-up's.

I'm sure I speak for my own family as well as countless others who have had first hand experience with MacMillan nurses in saying that they provide great reasurance both during the treatment of the disease and monitoring the condition afterwards. They make a huge contribution towards the ever-increasing percentage of cancer survivors.

Whether you chose to donate 10pence or 10pounds, any contribution that you are able to make will be appreciated and every penny will go directly to the charity, including an extra 28% tax bonus on top of your contribution for UK Taxpayers at no extra cost. £10.60 will pay for one person to be helped by the MacMillan CancerLine, £22 would fund 100 copies of the informative publication the Cancer Guide and £50 will buy a patient who can't eat soild food a liquidiser to take in their daily meals, and you can choose to donate now as I prepare for the cycle, during the journey, or when I've completed the torture... I mean crossing.
