My story

CYCLING HOME FROM SIBERIA
Welcome to my JUST GIVING home page.

I have now finished the 37 month, 30,000 mile cycling expedtion which took me from Siberia's Tundra, through China, Australia, Tibet and Afghanistan (among other places) to England. I did this ride in order to raise money for the children at risk charity Viva (www.viva.org).

Viva is a Christian charity which does amazing work to help street children, orphans, and other children living in dangerous or high risk circumstances around the world.

As somebody once said:  "When a child dies every three seconds because of poverty, we can't just stand around and let that happen".

I am delighted to say that we have now past both the initial fundraising target (£10,000) and the subsequent one (£20,000) and during this final month of fundraising I am hoping we will be able to get beyond £21,000 .

The money we are raising really does make a difference (to read specifically about the time I spent visiting Viva projects with street children as I passed through Manila, please see my website entry at: http://www.cyclinghomefromsiberia.com/wordpress/?p=117 )

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Viva will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. There is also a chance for you to leave a message for me which is posted on the board below. If you prefer you can donate anonymously.

My expedition costs were self financed, so the money you give through this site goes to the charity.

Many thanks for your support.
