Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.

It was only when Jess was diagnosed with Diabetes last year that we realised what children with Type 1 Diabetes have to go through.  Since then we have learned how to live with a diabetic child, how many families in Shetland are affected by Diabetes and how little funding is available to find a cure.   We are hopeful that a cure will be found one day but it is only through fundraising that the valuable research can continue.

Neil, Callum, Jess and I are taking part in a walk around Lerwick on Sunday 6th September to raise money to help find a cure for Diabetes.  This is a nationwide event and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation contacted us to see if we would like to organise a walk in Shetland this year.  Sandra took part in one in last year so she has very kindly volunteered to organise this event and let us do the walking this time.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank you again

Lynn, Neil, Callum and Jess Fraser
