A huge thank you to everybody who sponsored me on my run.  It was surprisingly enjoyable even though I was overtaken not once but twice by people in extremely hard to run in rhino costumes.  I didn't mind the rain but didn't enjoy being sprayed with Gatorade by carb loading fellow runners.

I was going so fast that no one actually got a picture of me running but here is a shot of me with my medal!

I feel incredibly lucky that I have been able to raise a family and have a satisfying career without tearing myself in half, which is why I am supporting Working Families, a charity which campaigns to make a healthy work -life balance more than a political slogan. Don't feel you have to dig deep, even a little graze of those pockets will help fund a charity that works to convince government and big business that the future is 'family friendly.' I think any sponsor wants to feel a little schadenfreude alongside the virtuous glow of giving, so rest assured that this race is going to hurt. I am not one of nature's athletes. My erstwhile gym mistress, Miss Stout, once told me that I was built for comfort not for speed and she was right. Two months ago I could hardly walk 100 metres, so 10k is going to be a serious struggle. So if you like your charity tinged with sadism, get sponsoring! Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Working Families gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. So please sponsor me now!
