As Knowsley's Executive Director of Children and Family Services, I am supporting the efforts of a number of my staff who are raising money to transport a variety of much needed goods and equipment by lorry to Chernobyl, to support this very worthwhile charity. It is almost 23 years since the terrible nuclear disaster which blighted the lives of so many and continues to do so as a result of the ongoing consequences of contamination. This year four of us are again attempting to try and better last year's feat in the BUPA Great Manchester Run and raise over £1000.
